Takalani Sesame, (the South African version of the American series Sesame Street)

for CTW (USA) & Kwasukasukela Productions (SA), broadcast by the SABC, starting July, 2000. This is a children’s series of the Muppets, done South African style. CKM was 50% contributing composer & recording service provider. The title theme was also recorded & mixed by us, at our recording studio. 

The History of the South African Political Parties: A TV series for world distribution, for the SABC/BBC.

Commissioned as recording-service provider, contributing-composer, arranger, orchestrator and music-producer for this series (2003/04)

2003/04: Invited by Jonas Gwangwa to collaborate on three projects:

¨ To produce a commercial song in praise of our President, Mr. Thabo Mbeki;

¨ To produce a commercial song for the South African Coat of Arms (These are both S.A. Government commissions) The CEO, Claude King co-composed the lyrics to both these works and they were performed live at the Union Buildings for the President’s 2004 inauguration.

¨ To Produce a commercial song in praise of another great South African Son, Oliver Tambo. Claude composed the English lyrics for this work.

2003: Contributions in the same capacity as above, for the World Summit on Sustainable Development, both for which Caiphus Semenya was the composer.

2002: Collaborator, music-programmer & studio service-provider for the historical African Union Song, Unité Africa.

Creators of  the musical Prospero’s World

Claude Gombard & Peter Blaikner

Prospero’s World: (2006).

A musical based in part on Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Created by Claude Gombard (our CEO) & Peter Blaikner It premiered on 19th October 2005 in the Grosses Festspielhaus, Salzburg, Austria where-after it undertook a short introductory tour through Germany & Austria.

 

This musical will undertake a full tour of Europe in the spring of 2007. Once again included in it’s schedule will be Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

Sexy: (1995). (a Sun City Revue) Created & directed by Anthony Farmer, sadly having died in May, 2006.

 

Claude King composed and arranged all of the original music and lyrics, and for which he was the Music Director. This ran for six months at Sun City, Bophuthatswana, South Africa.

A program from the Sports Trust Show, “Figment of your Imagination” - 2001

Figment of your imagination: (2001)

a charitable, Broadway musical farce for the Sports Trust (a sports charity organization in South Africa), in which all of South Africa’s most famous sportsmen & sportswomen took part as Broadway Stars. Claude King was Music Director, sole composer and recording-service provider. The Sports Trust also commissioned CKM to compose & produce their theme song (Believe, and you’ll achieve), which was performed during the show, as a tribute to all S.A.’s sportsmen & sportswomen. The show was produced & directed by Wendy de la Harp, and will from now on be an annual event. The Sports Trust provides financial & other assistance to develop underprivileged sections of the nation.

Izidumo O' Africa (1999 – 2001

We composed and arranged 90% of the original music and lyrics, and Claude King was the Music Director. This show had its first season in February and March of 1999, doing 48 sold-out performances across Austria, Germany & Switzerland, to standing ovations. Due to the success of the musical, many more seasons are planned for the coming years, strictly for international consumption. The 2nd tour of this musical took place during February and March of 2001, and encompassed Austria, Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland.

Claude King wrote the script, the music & lyrics, and directed this musical. It premiered to thunderous applause in Siegen, Germany on the 8th February 2006, where-after it went on tour in Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Denmark & Switzerland.  All 38 performances were sold out and received standing ovations. It is due to repeat the same tour in Feb/Mar/Apr of 2007, with 50 performances planned. Read more about this at:-
